Leaving a School
How to leave your current school licence in ReportRocket, transfer your data, and what happens to your classes, students, and reports.
When to Leave
You might leave a school when:
- Transferring to a different school
- Retiring or changing careers
- Your school's licence ended
- Switching to an individual account
How to Leave
Step 1: Open Your School Page
In the sidebar, click My School if you're a teacher or reviewer, or School Admin if you're a school administrator. Both labels lead to the same page — the wording changes based on your role.
Step 2: Leave School
Scroll to the bottom of the School Membership card and click the Leave School button. Confirm your decision in the dialog that appears.
What Happens to Your Data
Your Classes
Before leaving, you have options:
- Keep classes – They become personal (not linked to school)
- Transfer to admin – School admin can reassign them
Your Students
- Stay with their class
- If class transfers to admin, students go too
Your Reports
- Reports you created remain accessible to you
- School no longer has visibility
Your Settings
- Personal settings preserved
- School-specific settings removed
For School Records
Schools should have teachers transfer classes before leaving to maintain:
- Student records
- Report history
- Compliance documentation
After Leaving
Your Account
- Reverts to individual (free tier or your personal licence)
- Can join a different school
- Can purchase Teacher Pro
The School
- No longer sees you in member list
- Your usage no longer counts toward their quota
- Classes you transferred remain available
Rejoining
If you need to rejoin the same school:
- Request a new invitation from the admin
- Accept the invitation
- Your account re-links to the school
Leaving vs. Deleting
| Action | Your Data | School's Data |

If you're also done with ReportRocket entirely, delete your account after leaving.
